Need some help with planning your science week or tackling tricky topics?
Science bugs is lead by Lisa, a former secondary science teacher and head of science with over 16 years of science teaching experience. If you are looking to improve provision for students and make the most of equipment already in your school I can help you re-imagine the science curriculum working with your staff to find new and exciting ways to deliver science to your students.
We can offer fun science themed event days and workshops from "bonkers biology", looking at humans, senses, organs and plants, to "star tours", looking at space, forces, electromagnets and electrical circuits. Plus much more!
Event days are aimed at a class size group of students and can usually be accommodated within a standard classroom depending on topic chosen (rockets need a hall or outside space to launch).
Workshops are planned to last about 40- 45mins and usually comprises of a demonstration and a follow up investigation for the students to try. Workshops then can also be followed up by class teachers after workshop time is up and resources and lesson ideas are shared.
For a full list of topics or any questions just ask Lisa who will be happy to assist.
